- Always use the credit card carefully. During the transactions keep an eye on the credit card.
- Match the billing statement with the receipts of all the transactions made. In case of any discrepancy talk to card issuer.
- Never lend your card to anybody.
- Never leave your card or receipts unattended.
- Do not sign a blank receipt.
- Never mention your accounts details on internet, postcard or any envelop.
- Never give the account details on phone to any unknown person.
- If you are not at home, instruct somebody you trust to accept your mails.
- Never tell your personal details on phone in a public place.
- Get your financial bank statements on regular basis.
- Destroy your old credit cards.
- Never fax the credit card details to anybody even to known person. As you never know who will access the fax on the other side.

- Contact your financial institute as soon as you become victim of the fraud.
- Report the crime to the concerned authority so that action is taken as soon as possible.
- You should always record all the details concerned with fraud such as date, time, order details, person details to name a few.
- In case you receive an amount in your bank account from unknown person or unknown credit card number immediately inform the bank. Ask the bank as to how to refund the same, in order to save you from getting involved in fraudulent transaction.
